This is an authentic Moroccan cooking Tagine made for the souk in Tangier and bought by the local householders. The tagines are not perfect in their formation and have a rustic finish, as they are entirely hand-made in traditional potteries, where they are commonly stored on concrete floors. Small chips to the base and edge of the lid are usual and do not constitute faults. With a 21cm diameter, this tagine should be able to feed a feast of up to 2 people. A healthy way of cooking that exotic Moroccan feast or alternatively a stew. Truly a great experience.
Dimensions - Height: 20cm X Diameter: 22cm. As each tagine is hand-thrown these dimensions can vary slightly and are given as guidance only.
We recommend that this tagine is used in the oven at a low temperature below 170c (130 to 150 is ideal for slow cooking) for melt in the mouth meat. To use on a gas or electric stove (not a ceramic hob) you must use the heat diffuser/simmer ring. Not dishwasher safe.
Please note you will not receive the tagine in the photograph. The hand painted patterns are all different and the photographs are just an example.
